Our Story: From a Spark to a Spreading Flame
The Ethiopian Kale Heywet Church (EKHC) was born out of a powerful missionary awakening in the early 20th century—a movement fueled by deep faith, unwavering prayer, and a burning desire to make Christ known among all peoples. Rooted in Scripture and guided by the Holy Spirit, EKHC set out to proclaim the Gospel, equip believers, and plant vibrant, Christ-centered churches throughout Ethiopia.
It was never just a movement of buildings or names, but of hearts ignited by the love of Jesus Christ—a light that could not be hidden.
A New Chapter Across the Ocean
As Ethiopians began to journey abroad in the early 2000s, that same flame of faith traveled with them. In homes, dorm rooms, and community halls across North America, groups of believers began to gather—first to pray, then to worship, and soon to grow together in fellowship.
These gatherings became the seedbeds of new congregations, united in spirit and mission. Their shared heartbeat continues the vision of EKHC in a new cultural landscape—led to the formal establishment of the Kale Heywet Church in North America in 2009.
KHCNA became more than an organization; it became a bridge—linking generations, nations, and cultures under one unchanging purpose: to glorify God and make disciples of all nations.

ከኢትዮጵያ እስከ ሰሜን አሜሪካ
ከትንሽ ብልጭታ እስከሚቀጣጠል ነበልባል
የኢትዮጵያ ቃለ ሕይወት ቤተ ክርስቲያን (ኢቃሕቤ) የተወለደችው በ20ኛው ክፍለ ዘመን መጀመሪያ ላይ በነበረው ኃይለኛ የወንጌል ተልዕኮ መነቃቃት ውስጥ ነው — ይህም በጥልቅ እምነት፣ በማይናወጥ ጸሎት እና ክርስቶስን በሕዝቦች ሁሉ መካከል ለማሳወቅ ባለ ትልቅ ናፍቆት የቀጣጠለ እንቅስቃሴ ነበር። የኢቃሕቤ በቅዱሳት መጻሕፍት ላይ ተመስርታና በመንፈስ ቅዱስ እየተመራች ወንጌልን ለማወጅ፣ አማኞችን ለማስታጠቅ እና በመላው ኢትዮጵያ ሕያውና በክርስቶስ ላይ የሚያተኮሩ አብያተ ክርስቲያናትን ለመትከል ተነሳች።
ይህ እንቅስቃሴ በሕንጻዎች ወይም በስም ብቻ የተወሰነ ሳይሆን፣ በኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ ፍቅር ልባቸው በነደደ ቅዱሳን የተገነባ ነበር — ሊደበቅ የማይችል ታላቅ ብርሃን!
አዲስ ምዕራፍ ከውቅያኖስ ማዶ
በ2000ዎቹ መጀመሪያ ላይ ኢትዮጵያውያን ወደ ውጭ አገር መጓዝ ሲጀምሩ፣ ያው የእምነት እሳት አብሮአቸው ተሻገረ። በሰሜን አሜሪካ በሚገኙ ቤቶች፣ በተማሪዎች የመኝታ ክፍሎችና በማኅበረሰብ አዳራሾች ውስጥ የአማኞች ስብስብ መጀመሪያ ለጸሎት፣ ቀጥሎም ለአምልኮና በኅብረት ለማደግ መሰብሰብ ጀመሩ።
እነዚህ ስብስቦች በመንፈስና በተልዕኮ የሚተባበሩ የአዳዲስ አብያተ ክርስቲያናት መፍለቂያ ሆኑ። የእነዚህ አማኞች የጋራ የልብ ትርታ የኢቃሕቤን ራእይ በአዲስ ባሕላዊ መልክ በማስቀጠል፣ እ.ኤ.አ. በ2009 የሰሜን አሜሪካ ቃለ ሕይወት ቤተ ክርስቲያን በይፋ እንዲመሰረት ምክንያት ሆነ።
የሰሜን አሜሪካ ቃለ ሕይወት ቤተ ክርስቲያን (KHCNA) ከአንድ ድርጅት በላይ ሆነች፤ ትውልዶችን፣ አገራትንና ባሕላትን በአንድ የማይለወጥ ዓላማ ስር የምታገናኝ ድልድይ ሆነች፦ ይህም እግዚአብሔርን ማክበርና አሕዛብን ሁሉ ደቀ መዛሙርት ማድረግ ነው።
Maryland Kaleheywet Church
This God-given vision took visible form in Maryland. What began as a simple Bible study and prayer gathering in March 2015—with two families, around five believers—became the seed of something far greater than anyone could imagine. The Holy Spirit breathed life into that fellowship, turning it into a thriving family of faith.
Within just five months, God multiplied the effort. The group joyfully hosted the KHCNA conference in July 2015, a milestone that confirmed His divine calling. Later that same year, in November 2015, the fellowship took a new step of faith and formally organized as the Maryland Kale Heywet Fellowship, meeting weekly for worship, prayer, and the study of God’s Word.
From Fellowship to Church
With hearts full of gratitude and vision, the believers pressed on. And in April 2016, the Maryland Kale Heywet Church was legally established in the United States—a visible testimony to God’s unwavering faithfulness and the enduring prayers of His people.
What began as a small circle of believers has now become a growing community—a place of worship, discipleship, and mission—serving as a spiritual home for many who seek to know and follow Jesus Christ.
Every step of this journey declares the same truth:
“This is the Lord’s doing; it is marvelous in our eyes.” — Psalm 118:23
Our Continuing Mission
Today, the Maryland Kale Heywet Church stands as a living witness of God’s grace—a community built on prayer, love, and unity. Our calling remains the same:
What started as a spark of faith in a living room has become a growing flame of hope that reaches hearts near and far. And as we look ahead, we carry one assurance deep in our hearts:
The same God who began this good work will be faithful to complete it.
የሜሪላንድ ቃለ ሕይወት ቤተ ክርስቲያን
ይህ ከእግዚአብሔር የተሰጠ ራእይ በሜሪላንድ ምድር በግልጽ መታየት ጀመረ። እ.ኤ.አ. በመጋቢት 2015 በሁለት ቤተሰቦች (በአምስት አማኞች) በትንሽ የመጽሐፍ ቅዱስ ጥናትና የጸሎት ኅብረት የተጀመረው አገልግሎት፣ ማንም ሊገምተው ከሚችለው በላይ የሆነ የታላቅ ነገር ዘር ሆነ። መንፈስ ቅዱስ በዚያ ኅብረት ውስጥ ሕይወትን በመዝራት ወደ ታላቅ የእምነት ቤተሰብ ለወጠው።
በአምስት ወራት ውስጥ ብቻ እግዚአብሔር ጥረቱን አበረከተው። በሐምሌ 2015 የKHCNA ጉባኤ(ኮንፍራንስ) በደስታ ለማስተናገድ ቻለ፤ ይህም መለኮታዊ ጥሪውን ያረጋገጠ ትልቅ ምዕራፍ ነበር። በዚያው ዓመት በኅዳር 2015 ኅብረቱ አዲስ የእምነት እርምጃ በመውሰድ “የሜሪላንድ ቃለ ሕይወት ኅብረት” በመባል በይፋ ተደራጀ፤ ለአምልኮ፣ ለጸሎትና የእግዚአብሔርን ቃል ለማጥናት በየሳምንቱ መሰብሰብም ቀጠለ።
ከኅብረት ወደ ቤተ ክርስቲያን
አማኞቹ በምስጋናና በራእይ ተሞልተው ጉዟቸውን ቀጠሉ። በሚያዝያ 2016 የሜሪላንድ ቃለ ሕይወት ቤተ ክርስቲያን በዩናይትድ ስቴትስ ሕጋዊ እውቅና አገኘች — ይህም ለእግዚአብሔር የማይናወጥ ታማኝነትና ለሕዝቡ የጸሎት ጽናት ግልጽ ምስክር ሆኗል።
በጥቂት አማኞች የተጀመረው አነስተኛ ስብስብ ዛሬ እያደገ መጥቶ ማኅበረሰብ (ቤተክርስቲያን) ሆኗል — የአምልኮ፣ የደቀ መዝሙርነትና የተልዕኮ ስፍራ በመሆን ኢየሱስ ክርስቶስን ለማወቅና ለመከተል ለሚሹ ብዙዎች መንፈሳዊ ቤት ሆኖ እያገለገለ ይገኛል።
የዚህ ጉዞ እያንዳንዱ እርምጃ ያንኑ እውነት ያውጃል፦
“ይህች ከእግዚአብሔር ዘንድ ሆነች፥ ለዓይናችንም ድንቅ ናት።” — መዝሙር 118:23
የቀጠለው ተልዕኮአችን
ዛሬ የሜሪላንድ ቃለ ሕይወት ቤተ ክርስቲያን በጸሎት፣ በፍቅርና በአንድነት ላይ የተገነባች ቤትክርስቲያን በመሆን ለእግዚአብሔር ጸጋ ሕያው ምስክር ሆና ቆማለች። ጥሪያችን አሁንም ያው ነው፦
በአንድ የመቀመጫ ክፍል ውስጥ በእምነት ብልጭታ የተጀመረው አገልግሎት፣ ዛሬ በቅርብም ሆነ በሩቅ ያሉ ልቦችን የሚነካ እያደገ የመጣ የተስፋ ነበልባል ሆኗል። ክፊት ለፊታችን ያለውንም ሩጫ ስናስብ እንደተስፋ ቃሉ ከኛ ጋር ሆኖ እንደሚያበዛንና እንደሚያከናዉንልን ይህንን እንደ አንድ ማረጋገጫ በልባችን እንይዛለን፦
መልካሙን ሥራ የጀመረው አምላክ እስከ ፍጻሜው ድረስ ታማኝ ነው።
